Our Origin & Vision
Born from a real fight against dengue. We translate Larval Source Management science and cell biology into fantasy-themed card games that save lives, build childhood memories, and become traditions passed between generations.
bio-logicalgames.com is an educational simulations platform. All guides, games, and references are for classroom instruction, training, and school-level awareness campaigns. Actual Larval Source Management (LSM) activities, chemical or biological vector control applications, and real-world field insect identification must only be conducted under the direct supervision of qualified medical entomologists, researchers, or local public health authorities.
π The Vision: It Started with Dengue
In Southeast Asia, dengue isn't a headline β it's a neighbor. Every rainy season, hospitals fill, schools close, and children fall sick from a disease that is entirely preventable if communities know where mosquitoes breed and how to stop them. The science exists, the WHO protocols exist, and Larval Source Management (LSM) works. However, the knowledge rarely reaches those who need it most: families, students, and neighborhoods in tropical regions where dengue strikes hardest.
bio-logicalgames.com was born from this gap. We asked a simple question: What if the best way to teach a child to identify a mosquito breeding site wasn't a lecture β but a card game? What if Larval Source Management training felt less like a government pamphlet and more like PokΓ©mon? What if evidence-based vector control science could become something a child chooses to play, obsesses over, and carries in their backpack?
That question became our platform. We translate peer-reviewed biology β real Aedes mosquito ecology, real LSM field protocols, real cell structures, and geologic evolution timelines β into fantasy-themed card games wrapped in a world of wizards, quests, and geologic eons. The science is rigorous. The experience is magical. And the knowledge sticks β not because you were tested on it, but because you lived it, one card flip at a time.
This is not an e-learning platform. This is science play. And it started with a fight against dengue.
- For students: It's the card game you get obsessed with one summer β and twenty years later, you can still spot an Aedes larva in a tire and know exactly how to neutralize it.
- For the young-at-heart: If you're a board game lover or card collector who believes a good physical deck is worth more than a good app, these hand-illustrated cards are for you β relaxation wrapped in discovery.
- For families: It's the game you play together on Sunday afternoons, the tradition you pass down, the heirloom that carries knowledge inside it like a seed carries a forest.
- For communities: It's the reason a neighborhood organizes a clean-up before the rains come β because the kids who played LSMgame know that a forgotten tire full of rainwater is a dengue outbreak waiting to happen.
We believe the most powerful way to seal knowledge into memory is to make it something people love, choose, and return to. Evidence-based dengue prevention. Fantasy-themed science play. Childhood memories that save lives.
π― Our Dual Mission
bio-logicalgames.com aims to be a free, browser-based interactive platform built on two core pillars:
- First and Foremost: Dengue Prevention: Put Larval Source Management (LSM) knowledge into the hands of every student, teacher, and family in dengue-endemic regions through games they actually want to play. Our Aedes Match and LSMgame card games teach mosquito lifecycle recognition, breeding site identification, and vector control strategies in a format that feels like play.
- And Beyond Dengue: Biology Engagement: Make all of biology this engaging. From cell organelles to evolutionary timelines, we turn every branch of life science into visual, social, and collectible card game experiences β accessible to any student, anywhere, for free.
Through educational card games, quizzes, creative challenges, and community-driven content, we mobilize students as citizen scientists fighting real-world health threats β starting with dengue, expanding to all of biology.
π The Game That Stays With You
Ask anyone who grew up with a deck of cards β PokΓ©mon, UNO, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh! β and they'll tell you the same thing: the rules faded, but the feeling never left. The thrill of flipping a card. The pride of a collection. The memory of who you played with. That's not education. That's childhood.
We built bio-logicalgames.com on this truth: the most powerful way to seal knowledge into memory is not to teach it β it's to make it part of someone's story.
- For the children: These aren't just biology cards β they're the deck you carried in your backpack and got obsessed with one summer. Years later, when someone asks what a mitochondria does, you won't remember a textbook. You'll remember the card.
- For the young-at-heart: Beautiful, hand-illustrated scientific artwork on real, printable cards. Collectible, frameable, playable forever β no batteries, no Wi-Fi, no subscription.
- For the next generation: A parent who plays CellMatch with their child today is handing down a tradition. That child grows up and pulls out the same worn deck for their own kids. In that moment, biology isn't a subject β it's a family heirloom.
Collect the cards. Play the games. Pass them on. That's how science becomes a tradition.
𧬠The Ecosystem
Our project integrates two distinct, interconnected digital portals designed to connect classrooms with public health actions:
πΉοΈ bio-logicalgames.com
This Site: A gamified biology learning portal featuring CellMatch (cell structures), Aedes Match (mosquito lifecycle & vector control), LSMgame (VCO field simulation), Cell Oracle adaptive quiz, Single-Cell Duel, and monthly creative competitions.
π± LSMscanners.org COMING SOON
Companion App (In Development): An AI-powered smartphone application for real-world mosquito Larva Source Management. Students scan containers, and an embedded computer vision AI classifies the larva species to map risk factors and send points back to the games portal.
πΊπ³ UN SDG Alignment
Our work directly advances five United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
Our games teach students to identify mosquito breeding sites and apply LSM strategies. Through our planned companion app, students become active participants in vector surveillance, contributing verified field data to local public health units.
We provide free, inclusive, and equitable access to interactive science education tools designed for low-bandwidth, low-resource classrooms. No downloads, no installs, no textbooks required.
By designing for underserved schools in tropical and developing regions first, we ensure that students in high-burden areas have access to the same quality of educational technology. Multilingual support (English, Tagalog, Cebuano) reduces barriers.
Our LSM education pipeline trains the next generation of community health advocates, equipping them to organize neighborhood clean-ups, identify hazards, and contribute to resilient, dengue-free cities.
Our expanding ecosystem connects biology teachers, public health units, and student citizen scientists into a single data-driven feedback loop. We actively seek partnerships with NGOs, health ministries, and educational institutions.
π‘οΈ Building Resilience
The COVID-19 pandemic, dengue surges, and climate-driven infectious diseases have shown that communities lacking basic science literacy are the most vulnerable. We believe science education is public health infrastructure. By teaching students to recognize mosquito vectors today, we train the generation that will respond to tomorrow's epidemics.
Family Bonding: Biology doesn't have to end when the school bell rings. We designed our games to be played together β on local multiplayer sharing a single screen, or through printable physical card decks. It removes the "homework" stigma, creating shared vocabulary and intergenerational habits of vector control surveillance.
π¨ Founder, Advisers & Credits
bio-logicalgames.com was founded by a student in tropical medicine and medical entomology with a passion for crafting science-themed designs. Having experience in teaching, she observed that students love card games and enjoy learning science when it is gamified. Together with her advisers and research collaborators in vector ecology (mosquito breeding dynamics), and complemented by a lifelong passion for board games, this idea has been forged into a creative reality.
The visual illustrations and code structures representing this platform are a collaborative achievement between human design and generative AI tools:
- Grok was utilized to generate the fantasy Ghibli-inspired design aesthetics and illustrations across the site's timeline.
- Claude and Antigravity (our pair-programming AI coding assistant) partnered with the founder to design, code, and implement the interactive card games, sitemap routing, and platform guides.
π Science & Society: How We Use AI
This project demonstrates how modern AI tools can be harnessed to bridge the educational divide, support public health initiatives, and empower communities:
